Frank Fulmer was born into a noble legacy rich in tradition. He comes from the Alaska Tlingit Nation. His mother's name is Kaasoot and their family crest... the Eagle Moiety. They are from the Chookaneidei clan, meaning "Tall Grass", and they come through the Iceberg House. Frank's family hails from a small village called Hoonah or Xoon Nyi Naa... original word meaning: "The land That Stops The North Wind From Coming In." Glacier Bay is a traditional Chookaneidie Clan cultural site or at.oow meaning owned things. The Tlingits have owned Glacier Bay or "Sit' Eeti Geeyi" for over 9,000 years and we passionately refer to it as our Breadbasket.

Frank was first inspired by totem poles carved by his great grandfather, Frank St. Clair. One of his totem poles stands in front of Juneau Governor's Mansion and a second totem... the Yax-Te pole stands in Auke Bay.

"It is an honor to follow in the foot steps of my Ancestors. Through my works of art, I strive to bring Honor and Glory to who we are... Shuka'. English Translation... "The generations who have paved the way before me and the generations to follow." Knowing that I am a LIVING link within this Legacy... helps fuel my passion for the world of Tlingit art."
